OVERVIEW
SFDC provides traditional and machine-applied sand and cement rendering, bonding and setting coat plaster finishes across commercial and residential projects. We combine traditional craft skills with modern materials and application techniques to deliver durable, high-quality plaster finishes on every project.

Plastering remains one of the most skill-intensive trades in construction. Our plastering teams are experienced across all plaster and render systems, from traditional Thistle two-coat work on brickwork substrates to machine-applied monocouche render on new-build commercial schemes.

Plastering remains one of the most skill-intensive trades in construction, requiring experienced craftsmen to achieve a consistently flat, smooth and durable finish. SFDC provides traditional and machine-applied plastering and rendering services for commercial and residential projects across the UK, from sand and cement scratch coat render to British Gypsum Thistle bonding and finish coat systems. Our plasterers work to a 3mm in 2m tolerance standard, ensuring decorators receive a consistently flat surface ready for painting.
For large commercial floor plates, machine spray application of plaster dramatically increases productivity and ensures consistent coat thickness, making it ideal for fast-track commercial projects. SFDC also applies external render systems including monocouche through-coloured renders, acrylic topcoat renders and traditional sand and cement render, providing weathertight, low-maintenance facades for new build and refurbishment projects. We also carry out lime plastering on heritage and listed buildings where traditional, breathable materials are required.
WE ENSURE QUALITY
Our plastering supervisors inspect every area for substrate preparation, suction, mixing consistency and application thickness at each coat stage. Final tolerance checks are carried out with a straight edge and level, and any areas failing our 3mm in 2m tolerance standard are re-worked before acceptance.
SFDC plastering and rendering works comply with BS EN 13914 (design, preparation and application of external rendering and internal plastering), and all plaster and render products are applied in strict accordance with manufacturer specifications and relevant British Standards.
